Monochrome photography has become an important part of my practice over the years. Behind the camera, I’ve realized that removing color allows me to focus on what truly shapes an image - light.
When I shoot in black and white, the process becomes simpler yet more intentional. I begin to see photographs in terms of contrast, balancing deep shadows with strong highlights. This way of working trains my eye to observe light more carefully and understand how it defines mood, form, and structure within a frame. For me, shooting in monochrome is not just a style, but a continuous exercise in learning how to see.
